We were delighted to collaborate on the design and production of this essential new resource, supporting physiotherapists and orchestra managers in enhancing musicians’ physical readiness for performance. The project was commissioned by the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra and Help Musicians and came to us through a recommendation from our existing client, BAPAM, reflecting our trusted expertise in the field.
Authored by Dr. Sarah Upjohn, one of the UK’s leading physiotherapists, this toolkit provides expert, evidence-based guidance to reduce injury risk, improve healthcare provision, and maximise artistic potential.
Our role was to bring this content to life through a bold yet accessible design, ensuring the resource is not only clinically sound but also engaging and easy to navigate. Key features include:
- A Standalone Physiotherapy Guide – A dedicated resource for physiotherapists, offering specialist insights tailored to the needs of orchestral musicians.
- An Integrated Management Toolkit – Combining physiotherapy guidance with a structured introduction for orchestra managers, ensuring a holistic approach to musician wellbeing.

- Digital & Print-Ready Formats – Optimised for online use while maintaining high-quality print compatibility.
- Collaborative Review & Sign-Off – Developed with input from Liverpool Philharmonic, Help Musicians, and BAPAM to ensure accuracy and usability.
Launched in January 2025 as part of a dedicated webinar, this resource now stands as a vital tool in promoting the long-term health and performance sustainability of orchestral musicians.
